[Ger-Poland-Volhynia] Prison in Ukraine?

My grandfather (family lore) was imprisoned during WWI accused of being a
spy. He was a part of the German colonization along the Vistula River near
Plotsk and that was an area of conscription for Volksdeutsche (ethnic
Germans) into the Russian army. He tried to get out of the war by having
his trigger fingers severed (along with a comrade f his) when the troop
train pulled in to take the troops to the Front Line. He was later
imprisoned being accused of being a spy.

My research came up with a POW camp near Dubovka; this camp existed during
that time-frame and in that vicinity, which housed German prisoners of war.
I have no definitive proof; however, my grandmother was also exiled at that
time to the same area Saratov along the Volga River, (a POW camp had been
setup near the settlement of Dubovka along the west bank of the Volga River
fifty miles northeast of Sarato), where she was able to get my grandfather
released. Documents prove the deportation of deutsche Lutheraner
(German Lutherans)
to the area. My family records pinpoint that area (Tsaritsyn, then renamed
Stalingrad, current-day Volgograd) as the births of my grandparents two
children before they were allowed release after WWI to return to their
German colonies that then had become Polish ruled (Poland the 2nd Polish
Republic, no longer under the Russian Empire rule).

This Dubovka is in Volgograd Oblast the same area of my grandmother's exile.

There was a Polish POW camp in Lutsk abt 1919.
