I am at this point grasping at straws.
My Grandfather Theodor Bloch was born in Dorofejewka in 1891.
His father was August Bloch and Mother Emelie Stebner.
The Bloch/Stebner marriage record on LDS film is just an index and
August's brother Gustav's marriage record also is just an index
So looking at those did not help.
I found a Freiderich Wilhelm August Bloch in a family tree on
ancestry. It appears to have been submitted from Germany
where these people died. ( Brandenburg)
This Frederich was born in Kossebude, Turek, Poland in 1862
His parents were August Bloch and Susanne Stibbe.
VKP records has two more children born to this Bloch/Stibbe marriage,
one born in Marianna Michalowka and one in Dorofejewka.
Frederich married a Euphrosyne Rosenke (B . Dorofejewka 1864)
They had 8 children between1885 and 1901.
The first two born in Dorofejewka and the rest listed in Shitomir.
3 names given these children (August Theodore, Olga, and Alwine) were
also names used in my grandfather's immediate family.
It seems to me these families often kept using many of the same names
Perhaps this Friederich might be a brother of my August Bloch.
I thought I might try to find records for this area in Poland.
So, I have a question for you experienced researchers.
Is this too big a leap, especially since Bloch is such a common name.?
I was thinking that relatives often moved together and these communities
were not that large.
