One more possibility if it were "Generalleutnant" and "Pächter" would be Lieutenant or Major General and tenant of the crown land in Grünberg.  The military rank could be in some army or a militia.

I am not certain of the meaning of the whole phrase, particularly since there is no German "Lieutenant" as far as I know. (If this refers to a military rank, it would be "Leutnant").  My translation is "General tenant of the crown (or municipal) land in Grünberg".

    I am confused regarding the occupation (below) of a member of the Marsch family in Grünberg, Niederschlesien in 1843.  I would be grateful for any translation or explanation forthcoming.  The information was obtained from the Grünberg Wochenblatter of that time.
