Simeon was filled with joy that the eyes of the Gentiles would be  
opened to the glory of the Jews.
Simeon was filled with joy that he could now go, die in peace, having  
beheld the 'enlightener of the non-Jews.
It is about Christianity itself, the social construct that is the  
foundation of the Western World (western society).
