Last fall I requested the Poznan Archives to search for a late 1880's birth record in the Przedecz Lutheran church records books.  

I was advised by Poznan Archives that "the Przedecz that all civil records from the late Konin province (locality Przedecz was located within that province) are being transfered right now and will not be available until the end of this year.
Therefore, we cannot make the requested copies of the records from the Evangelical parish of Przedecz.  Please inquire (repeat your request) at the beginning of 2008 at our office in Konin (address: Archiwum Panstwowe w Poznaniu/Oddzial w Koninie  ul. 3 Maja 78, 62-500 Konin) where all records you are interested in will be kept."

Yesterday I inquired of the Poznan Achives whether the Konin Archives have an email address.  Today I received this information --   

" W zwiazku z Pani prosba przesylam adres e-mailowy naszego Oddzialu w Koninie: 
                                                     konin at poznan.ap.gov.pl  "

If anyone needs records (that are not micofilmed) from parishes in former Konin Province, you can now write to the Konin Archives directly.   It is possible the church records of Zychlin, Zagarow, Grodziec and others may have been transferred too.

The Polish Pradziad databases has not yet been updated and still shows the late 1880's Przedecz records in Poznan archives.
