[Ger-Poland-Volhynia] German Occupation - Latvian - Contractor

A Latvian friend gave the following remarks:
"The word could possibly be kontranieks: a man (-ieks
is m. ending) who makes contracts...on jobs of work
for example "I can get this job done for $X:00". But
frankly this is not a Latvian way of saying such a
thing. We would say uznemejs (sorry, no diacritic
marks!). So, very foreign, as if a foreigner were
making up a Latvan word.
Kontrakt is also an old fashioned German word for
contract ... so could be a made up word."
