"Emilie" german pronunciation= Aye'meel'ee'eh
Feminine form of the masculine given name Emil. (Latin aemulus  
meaning "rival".)

"Amalia"  german pronunciation=Ah'mahl'ee'ah
from Germanic 'amal'-work  French 'amal'-brave?   Arabic 'amal'-hope?
