Nelson,
There are several series of EWZ files. You can read about who they are organized here:
http://www.genealogyunlimited.com/daveobee/ewzmain.html
All LDS has is EWZ57 and EWZ58. 58 is very useful but you need to know the Stammblatt number of the person/family you are looking for to know what film to order. If you are lucky you can find your relatives in EWZ57 but the information given in them is often sparse. The listing of names is far from complete. It is unfortunate that LDS did not reproduce the EWZ 50-54 series as these are the most useful for doing genealogical research (and you will also find the Stammblatt numbers important to your family). Since these series comprise the actual applications, you find most pages are not relevant to true genealogical data, but the information you find with each application about a family is often more detailed than the first draft Stammblaetter you find in EWZ58.
Since my family is from Poland I use EWZ52 and EWZ58 almost exclusively, but without the information I first get in EWZ52, 58 would not be of much help. So from 52 I can look up any person of interest, then in 58 I can find who else is from the same town and find other possible relatives (like females who married into another family and thus are under different surname).

Hi Jerry: Aren't those EWZ files also available out of Salt Lake?
