Brent Mai translated it as Schterman because that's what the original
record -- or at least, the list in the newspaper -- said. It was wrong. I
have found other errors in the newspaper list as well.

Just imagine the poor newspaper employee who had to type in a few thousand
names, using the finest typesetting equipment available in Zhitomir in 1915.
It's remarkable there weren't more errors.
