Good find Gary. Sigrid has this village in our town list for this project but I'm not sure how it got there. There are no events in the database referencing this town. Us on the Lublin Team generally recognize the names of towns where Germans settled and this was not one of them. I think Frank probably took this town and made it fit with the Lublin area but it seems clear this is the incorrect town. Daniel Hauf lived in Bekiesza in 1880s - not really close to this Putnowice.
I like Dick's comments about the town. I believe that is the correct thing to be looking at right now.

To all,
I cannot say which location is correct, but there is a Putnowice, and
the one in the MPD record is about 70 km SE of Lublin.

I do not recognize that place being near Lublin and the Lublin database does not have this birth suggesting he probably was not born near there. SGGEE0032 gave the birth as Posnowicz so who know who is right. If you have an actual birth record that should be right. Does Dick Stein's information give that to you? Try to find a town with similar spelling near Belchatow.
