Chris,
If you are going to start researching these old records it would be to your benefit to learn the phonetics of German, Polish, and if you're really determined Russian. You will often find pastors spelling names of people and towns phonetically. In a film from western Volhynia I'm studying now some towns are spelled up to 3-4 different ways throughout a 10 period. Surnames also were challenging to these pastors.

It's not a misspelling but rather an alternate spelling. Tuczyn is as transliterated directly from Cyrillic; Tutschin is the Germanic spelling of how it is pronounced.
Similarly, Luck is spelled Lutzk in German records / maps.
