[Ger-Poland-Volhynia] Translation Help

I am translating memoirs of a German cousin and encountered the following 
words:

1.  "Steppke", as referring to a young child, possibly a term of endearment.

2.  "Plumpsko", a name given to their outhouse.  

I would appreciate any help you can give.  Of course, these are not 
necessarily even Geman words--could be Russian or Polish etc.
