I am not at home in Wisconsin right now, but wanted to comment about this thread.  The surname Lochstein is very common in Oconto County, Wisconsin, especially in Gillett, Wisconsin.  Although I'm sure the family could have been practicing Catholics, you will find that those who came from areas around Lublin and settled in Oconto County were primarily Lutheran.  

That being said, I would be happy to help you locate Oconto County records and/or records from the Wisconsin Historical Society or at the records office in Madison, our state capital.  I live 15 minutes southwest of Madison.  

As I write this I am in Warsaw, Poland on the last two days of an 11 day Poland tour.  The tour ends this Sunday, but I will remain an additional 5 days and travel to my ancestral homes around Lublin with a friend and guide.I

Many of the catholic church's in Wisconsin have consolidated due to populations/ budgetary issues.  I would consider looking into which district or diocese the Ashland church was part of. Might assist in getting a new contact .
