I imagine this will be similar to what I read about on CNET about a
'new free Genealogical database with zillions of records.' Biggest
problem is that when you share data with such places they include
private information, such as names, dob, addresses, etc of you and
your living relatives.
FamilyTreeNow.com was presented as an example in an article on CNet
<https://www.cnet.com/how-to/how-to-remove-your-name-from-familytreenow-com/>.
If you go to the web site
it looks like you would expect a genealogy web site to look, complete
with sepia tone pictures, etc.

For those in the broadcast range of Ontario and are able to view
TVO, there
is a special History piece on genealogy this evening Feb 1 at 9
p.m. local
time entitled
*Data Mining the Deceased*
The description is as follows:
*More than half of North Americans are fascinated by genealogy and
invested
in their family histories. The emotional impact of uncovering one's
ancestors, culture and country of origin can be profound, but there is
another side to the rise in genealogy that goes beyond human
interest. This
documentary explores what may be the largest historical enterprise
in the
world, and one of the largest data-mining operations, and how it
is driven
by big religion, big technology and big business.*
It will be repeated at midnight (12 a.m.)
Once broadcast, it will probably be avlb in their archives on their
website www.tvo.org <http://www.tvo.org>
