[Ger-Poland-Volhynia] last names?

Hi;
Then, what is the "source" that allows Ancestry.com to make an absolute
statement?  Ancestry indicates that the spelling "Krause" indicates a
connection to German and Ashkenazi Jews.
Michaelle knows my family story - I had a very "frisky" great grandmother -
at least for two of my grandfather's siblings.  It seems that she couldn't
keep her panties up.  Records for my grandfather, Wilhelm (1862) and one of
my grandfather's brothers, Daniel (1859), have been destroyed in the
Grodziec area.  I have told my sons that it's possible that Christian
Krause MAY have got tired of "wandering" and returned to Louisa Shiller
Krause.  So, it's possible that I'm not really a Krause - except that
Louisa was a married woman who carried the name Krause.
