Hi Rita,

I do believe Paul is right re the Grimsby in England being the transit
point to Liverpool by train and then to North America by ship.  Some of my
ancestors went from Riga by ship to the west coast of England, then the
train to Liverpool.

Re Poplar Park in Manitoba is still the likely spot you are looking for.
"Papel or Papelbaum" in German means "poplar tree".  And there are
certainly a lot in the West as they are a fast growing tree, often used as
windbreaks.
