Hi Karl

That would explain why the last record I could find was in 1940 (if the 
database only goes up to that date).

It was Waldemar Krause born 7 Jan 1940 in Lubelskie (son of Edmund Krause 
and Marta Formanski) that was the last entry I could find on the database. 
Waldemar would be 75 now.

His cousins that may still be alive are the children of Alexander Krause and 
Emma Lehmann.  They were all born between 1919 and 1936 in Lowcza, Chelm, 
Lubelski.  They all only have one Christian name as follows: Edmund, Rudolf, 
Natalie, Reinhold, Hermann (died 1929), Emil, Stefanie, Leo, Freida (died 
1935) and Lea (all with the surname of Krause).  Lea would be 80 now.

If there were a white pages on-line I would start writing letters, but there 
does not seem to be any for Poland.  I feel I have absolutely made the most 
of the info in the SGGEE Database, it's more current info I need to make an 
actual contact with a descendant now.

If you know any other ways I could do that please let me know. :-)

Who was still alive in 1940? They should be in the Lublin database as we 
have many Kamien records after WW I until 1940.

If some of your ancestors were near
Lublin/Chelm  until 1940 I assume you
know
you should find them in the Lublin database. Records from
the Kamien
church prior to World War
don't exist though. If you are a member of SGGEE
you can also look in the MPD where all the EWZ
data from this location is
deposited.

I don’t know where the
parents came from at
all and I totally lose
track of all of the family in Poland
after
1940.  I can trace on the SGGEE site that some went
on to Volhynia around 1880 and some to
Chelm/Lublin
(1870’s to 1940) area.

I
have sent
endless Facebook messages and emails to every
Krause and Krauze in the general area but the
rare reply has
been unsuccessful.

Martin
and
Anna had 7 children including my Great Grandfather, my
deepest wish would be to find another
descendant from one of
his siblings.  One
day.

I
suspect Poland did not exist when your
ancestors left Europe; at the very least they
are ethnic
German.  The Poles usually spell
Krause Krauze.
What place of birth is given
in this Bible for
your ancestors?
