Hi Michaelle,
Searching for descendants can be very time consuming, but at least with the
Internet we have an amazing resource to call upon.  Have you scoured
message boards such as http://boards.ancestry.com/  and of course left a
message there also?
You probably already know this information, but I know that the shifting
borders within Europe still trip me up often!  I find this a very simple
yet clear representation of events:

Have you joined Facebook groups such as Polish Genealogy and German
Genealogy?
Re "I don’t know where the parents came from at all", I take it you have
not been able to find their marriage entries?
