Hello Tammy, Bob and Brandt
There seem to have been a lot of Witts in Reischewo.
My Witt ancestors are as follows:
My maternal great grandfather Ludwig Witt, was born in 1849 in Reischewo.
His parents were Samuel Witt (1802)and Wilhelmina (Meinert) (1822) Ludwig
had a sister Fryderyka born Feb 26, 1846.I was told Ludwig was an only son
and therefore not subject to the Czar's draft.
Two of Ludwigs nine children - Emily (married a Kosmahl) and Wilhelm
emigrated to Cleveland, Ohio in 1908 and 1912 respectively. His daughter
Mathilda Witt
(Janke) was my grandmother and left Poland in 1944 and died in Germany.
Ludwig was married to Rosalie Gruenke who was born in Skierdy in 1856.
(Note Tammy) If there is some DNA connection between me ( It can't be
Linda Tullmann, it is Sigmar Tullmann ) then I would assume that Jacob Witt
could be a sibling of Samuel Witt. I don't know enough about DNA
calculations to be more precise. I have not information about who Samuel
Witts sibling were or where he was born. I think the problem we may run
into is that the Reischewo and Nowy Dwor records may not go back far
enough. Is there relevant info in the SGEE data base ?
Any help and more info on Samuel Witt would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
