Hello Marcia,
Yes, there was a Grodno parish, founded in the 1790s,
serving the city Grodno, some nearby villages, and the more
distant towns Slonim, Isabellin, and Czollo.
Sorry - I see that sentence below wasn't written as clearly
as it should have been. E.H. Busch was the author of several
books about the Lutheran congregations in Russia and Poland -
describing their history, and geography, and size. (Google Books
says the author was "von Busch" - but looking at the cover pages,
I now think he was probably just plain Busch).
Anyway, what I was trying to say, is that (according to
Busch's book):
Friedrich Julius Hoffmann was Pastor in Grodno from 1843 onwards.
Busch's books would give you several pages
of general information about the parish. What is your
interest - which places and dates?
I don't know about church records of BMD - I'll have a quick
check to see if I can find anything.
Paul
