Based on a clue and a nudge from another researcher, I have now found this...
GROOM'S LAST NAME: SCHNIDEL
GROOM'S GIVEN NAMES: EDWARD
BRIDE'S LAST NAME: GALENYEWSKI
BRIDE'S GIVEN NAMES: ELLEN DATE OF MARRIAGE: 17/01/1907
PLACE OF MARRIAGE: WPG
REGISTRATION NUMBER: 1907,002827
REGISTRATION DATE:
Does anyone know anything about THIS couple? This might, maybe, possibly, be the mystery grandma...
Thanks!

I speak neither language, but I am aware that many German names became Polish names that had the same meaning, and perhaps that is the case here. For instance, Schwarz became Czarnecki, both meaning black.
