    I have the same problem.  I have been told it is problem with the browser.  I suggest placing an inquiry on the mailing list.  Someone will have a solution.

      HI Dick,
      I am settling down today to look at this site, and have run into a problem - 
      when I open some of the scanned pages, only the very top of the page
      will load (showing the year) and yet pages on either side will completely
      open.  Is there anything I can do to make the page open completely?
