Rose, The only thing I know is what I sent you about their ship manifest
data. That claims that Michael was born about 1854, and Mathilda was born
about 1855. That is all I can tell you,.

I'm looking at the death certificate for my 3rd-great-grandfather,
Ludwig Heinrich Joseph, who died in Tenby, Manitoba, 2 March 1935. His
son-in-law, Carl Siegel, listed Ludwig's birthplace on the death
certificate as Neuhof, Poland. I have since found Ludwig's birth record
in Kepa Kikolska, Nowy Dw?r Mazowiecki, Warszawa Voivodeship, Poland. My
question is - could Neuhof be a German name for Nowy Dw?r?
Thanks,
Brandt Gibson

One and the same- it indicated a church-owned manor estate. It existed a
stone's throw west of Warsaw.

Cruising the web always nets some interesting sites.
This one is for Alberta and was compiled by Manfred Prokop of Okotoks,
Alberta. He published several books on German settlements in Alberta and
also on the subject of teaching German.
* Annotated bibliography of the cultural history of the German-speaking
community in Alberta : 1882-2000 *was published in 2002 and is now avlb on
line at the U of Alberta website - with a number of updates.
There is an explanation of the project and how to use the bibliography -
ie
by checking the index for a particular subject you will find the pages on
which the subject is covered.

Click on the red dot with the word PAGE - to get the details and links to
numerous sources
Horst Gutsche (a former SGGEE member) summarized and translated one of
Dr.
Prokop's newest books:

Pastor Gutsche gives info on how to get a copy - (although it may also be
found in some libraries)
I hope those searching in Alberta find something useful.

Bruce,
Do you have approximate dates and places for this couple?
