Hi Darrel

Many former German place-names ending with '-nitz' in Poland were changed to '-nica'. For example, Sweidnitz (=Swidnica);  Liegnitz(=Legnica). There were many.

For Horanitz you might also try Horyniec, on the SE Polish - NE Ukrainian border, formerly Lublin - Volhynia.

I have place name that I can't seem to find: Horentiz or Horanitz
 
Anyone have any suggestions for this one?
