The 1916 Canadian census for the 3 Prairie provinces is avlb free on
Library and Archives Canada website
http://www.bac-lac.gc.ca/eng/census/1916/Pages/about-census.aspx.
Note that sometimes the spellings of names is pretty uneven - Aada instead
of Ada, Lavinlinia instead of Lavinia, Fanney instead of Fanny. Not what
you expect. And am not sure whether it was the census taker or the
indexer, but corrections can be submitted. So, if you can't find the right
one try searching in the area you think they lived.
The 1921 census will only become free on the LAC site in 5 years according
to the contract.
