[Ger-Poland-Volhynia] New Leads in Genealogical Research = more questions

Good Afternoon All, 

 

I had the good fortune yesterday of being the recipient of some old family items, including the family Bible (in German of course, 1912), and some written notes that I believe were written by my great-aunts on recollections from my great-grandfather Gustav Menke. Also some good old pictures. My dad's cousin had the stuff in a trunk and knows I have been working on this for years, and kindly gave it to me. 

The notes contained some genealogical items I did not know about previously. I will post my questions in separate emails since some are people questions and some geography.
