August Eisbrener was born February 26, 1865 in Jalowitz, Russia (now Julorvich, Poland). He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. As a youth he was married to Justina Milke (b. March 10, 1871) in Poland and they farmed there until 1896, when they immigrated to Gretna, Manitoba where they lived for a year. They moved to Pembina county where he worked as a farm hand and later farmed for himself near Neche until 1907 when he was hired by the railway. He moved to Bathgate in 1917 and was town marshal for many years. He passed away May 30, 1941. Justina died July 3, 1933.

Julius Eisbrener was born the eldest son of August and Justine Milke Eisbrener in Rivne, Volhynian Governorate, Russia on December 18, 1895. Soon after he was born his parents immigrated to Gretna, Manitoba, Canada and soon after crossed the border and settled in Pembina County, North Dakota. His sisters Emma, Mathilda, Eva, and Helen were born in North Dakota. He worked for the railroad until he was inducted into the army on June 24, 1918 and discharged June 16, 1919 as a Private First Class.

He married Ida Gulbranson, the daughter of Elling and Sena (Gorvin) Gulbranson on June 20, 1922 at Cavalier, North Dakota. They lived at Arvilla, North Dakota following their marriage and later Grand Forks. They had three children - Raymond, James and Janice.

Julius died November 14, 1982 in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Justina Eisbrener had a sister Anna Milke who married Julius Kelm from Wolhynien, Russia. Julius and Anna immigrated to Germany in 1903 and had several children: Rudolph (born in Russia, displaced or in prison in East Prussia), and daughters Herta in Denmark, Frama (b. 1919), Olga and Hilde.
