It appears that Paroca may be word that was not transliterated or translated correctly.  I suspect it should be Parish though I cannot be sure without seeing the original.  At any rate, it certainly does not fit any place name within Russia Poland.

By itself, Kalisz can be parish, province or city.  With that word in front, I suspect parish.

Common as that surname is, we only have one entry for a Schmidtke family from Kalisz in out Master Pedigree Database.  At least you have a pretty firm date range to work with so you probably only have to check one microfilm.  Unfortunately, the Kalisz records are not yet online.

My great Grandfather Ludwig Schmidtke ( born 1852)  immigrated from 
Klein Gluscha. We know nothing about his family, no sibling names or 
parents names.
I found a death record for a 12 year old Julius  Schmidtke in 1877. The 
record indicated he was born in Paroca Kalisch. His parents are Wilhelm 
and Anna.
I'm thinking that even though Schmidtke is a very common name, that 
there is a  chance this person may be  Connected to my Gr. Grandfather.
I'd like to look at records from the area where this person was born.

Does Paroca Kalisch mean parish, or a town ?    Any information about 
where I should start looking would be appreciated.
