Al,
thanks for the explanation.
Are you sure we are speaking about the same website?
I mean:

Yes, I understand exactly what you are describing.
I do not use Internet Explorer for this, but rather Firefox or Chrome.
Open the first image that you will be looking at.
Notice in the bottom right corner, there is a Z. I still do not know what it does.
Directly to the left, is a icon that looks like a square inside a circle. At each corner of the
square, it looks like there is an arrow pointing outward. click on this.
This will expand the image and is what you do, in fact, to download the image.
However, from this stage you can see the image AND there is a "next" button
that will avoid the problem that you described.
I hope that this makes sense.

Jerry, I completely agree.
The intention of my question was to find a way to view the pictures more conveniently, not to actually download the entire set.
As far as I see, you always have to go back one step before you are able to move to the next photo.

There has been some recent discussion about mass downloading of the original records images being posted by various Archives in Russian Poland.
I would like to point out that these images are potentially under copyright of their respective Archives (depending on the laws governing that in Poland). Some of them even effectively state that with a watermark across the page. To download an entire set of documents is probably just as illegal as photocopying an entire set of LDS microfilms. Copying or downloading of a single item(s) for research purposes would be acceptable under most copyright laws.
I am not trying to be Internet police or judge here. I am just trying to warn of possible problems and to state publicly that neither I nor SGGEE condone this practice.
Jerry
