I obtained in 2007 the death certificate of my grandmother's sister by writing and requesting it from the "Standesamt Schöningen"; she died in Schöningen. I suggest you request the desired certificate from city administration of Marburg. From its web site, I see that you will need to send them 10 Euros and prove to them that you are related to the deceased, and you can submit your request by e-mail.
Here are the website links:
Main web site:

If cannot read in German, translate the website with the Google translator.
Online request for the death certificate:

The central E-Mail-Address is:
stadtverwaltung at marburg-stadt.de
You may need to correspond with Marburg in German, but you can try English first.

The postal address:
Magistrat der Universitätsstadt Marburg
Rathaus
Markt 1
35037 Marburg

If anyone can answer this, I, too would like to know. I would like a death certificate and obit for my grandmother's sister who died in Marburg, but have come up empty in all attempts to get either.
