Hi Brandt,

on the right-down corner of all maps are years given. The map 23-7 was
created 1867-1875.

And here come the Google translation of the Russian introduction to the
maps:

Trehverstnaya military topographic map
Trehverstnaya military topographic map of the Russian Empire - is an ancient
topographic map of the predominantly European part of Russian Empire filming
the second half of XIX century and printing the second half of the 19th
century - early 1900s.
Trehverstnaya military topographic map is based on projections of Bonn. In
calculating the projections made:
. Home for parallel breadth of 55o
. The average meridian, expressing at the same coordinate axis passes
through the Pulkovo Observatory
. Coordinates for the meridians and parallels are calculated from 20 'to 20'
. The size of each map sheet is a rectangle 23 inches in length and 16.5
inches wide.
The content of the military topographic map is very detailed. The map shows
all the objects permitted by the scale: populated places are shown in the
plans, the road also, but lost in the woods or fields, mounds, bushes,
forests, marshes, streams, separate buildings, bridges, ferries, all kinds,
flour mills and other items marked with a special kind of signs. Signatures
for a special font is selected, which is characterized by its shape: the
village for more than twenty yards signed in ordinary type, at least 20
yards - in italics.
Trehverstnaya military topographic map covers all the European provinces of
Russia, excluding Moscow.
During the period from 1846 to 1863 was compiled and nagravirovano 435
sheets trehverstnoy card. In the years that have already taken reconnoitre
and survey of new provinces.
By the late 19th century military topographic map has more than 600 pages.
Card struck amount of work done and its accuracy, so they were used for a
long time and even continued to be published in the first year after the
1917 revolution.
The military-topographic map, usually published only in two colors: black
drawing on a yellow background.
Depending on the year of publication, there are several versions of the same
military topographic map sheets, which may differ from each other. For
example, the presence of railroads, place names may be added, or conversely
absent some villages, farms, mills, etc.
Prefabricated sheets trehverstnoy military card:

Thank you Frank and Jerry!! I really appreciate you sending me these links.
Do you happen to know around what year these maps were created?

Hi Brandt,

it is not so difficult as Jerry is telling.

I am sending you a clip of the map 23-7 and have marked Ulyanowka.

It is not yet marked as a colony as in fact there is no village on the total
map marked as a colony.

On the map to the north (22-7) are a few colonies in the West like Neidorf
(=Neudorf), Ostrovka, Osovka, Alexandrovka, Liski and also Jerusalimka.

Greetings from Hamburg

Frank
