[Ger-Poland-Volhynia] Looking for Shiva, Poland

My grandfather, Wilhelm Endler, was immigrating to Canada from Volhynia in 1927. He was asked by the Canadian Immigration Service officers where he was born. He stated he was born in Shiva, Poland in 1894. I know that the spelling is that of a Canadian official and that Poland then is not Poland now, but I have had no luck in finding any village that might be the one where he was born. Can anyone help to point me in the right direction?
