Hello Heinz,

correct German is "Friedrichs Kinder" without apostrophe. The apostrophe in 
German is used for a left out letter "e". If Friedrich is the surname, I 
would vote for the suggestion of the Bavarian relatives  "(die) Kinder 
Friedrich". For to make it clearer I take an example with a surname that is 
not a given name: You would not say "Schmidts Kinder" but "Kinder Schmidt", 
unless you add the given name: "Johann Schmidts Kinder".
