[Ger-Poland-Volhynia] Karcon, Russia?

Gary,
I think you misread the original place name which was Karcon, not Kracon. In fact, Krakow is in south Poland, not Ukraine. It was historically in Galicia which was under Austrian, not Russian, rule.
