[Ger-Poland-Volhynia] Villages of Blizno and Bialasy by Sierpc, Poland

For any of you who may have connections to Blizno or Bialasy in the Sierpc congregation:
Tomasz Kowalski, a recent graduate of the high school in Sierpc, has received a grant and is beginning the restoration of the Evangelical cemetery in Bialasy. Blizno was also in this Kantorat. 
I had this message from him earlier this week:

"We have the money for Bialasy!
At the end of August (last weekend) we will build a fence and gate of the cemetery. In September, students in the elementary school Szczutowo will clean up the cemetery and clean the graves. In October, the service will be in Bialasy."

He is looking for any pictures of the prayer house, pastor, or other pictures of Bialasy to post on the Memorial Board at this cemetery. If you can help with information or pictures, I can give you his email.

Last year Tomasz and his friends restored the cemetery in the village of Osowka near Sierpc (this is a different Osowka from the one in Lipno) and they are working on it also this summer. His message states:


"Cemetery Osówka constantly working. August 15 will worship at the cemetery. It will be the unveiling of the monument and common prayer."

We are grateful to these young people for their interest in the history of their villages, including the times when our Germans lived there, and for their willingness and hard work to restore many of the Evangelical cemeteries!
