Many thanks to everyone who replied to my question. All of your answers make a lot of sense.
I noticed a number of names on various pages. Here are some examples for Karl Wildemann for 1885 in Zhitomir Parish. The suggestion to look at the parents makes a lot of sense. Like most people doing this research I guess we all have these gaps that we strongly suspect are related to us but we are having a great deal of difficulty trying to figure out how. These kinds of entries don't help. :-))
Wildemann, Karl 18, Dec. 1885 Zhitomir Ganfel, Rosalie 1897692/1 185 472
Wildemann, Karl 20, Jan. 1885 Zhitomir Parish Litz, Kristine 1897692/1 706 15
Wildemann, Karl 21, Jan. 1880 Zhitomir Parish Hubert, Dorothea 1897588/2 221 21

What names do you see as possible duplicates.

Subject: [Ger-Poland-Volhynia] Request for information
Greetings to the forum,
When I was on the Odessa site, http://www.odessa3.org/collections/stpete/volhynia/link/vol188xm.txt I noticed that there are a number of men with the same names that appear to be married to two or more women. Sometimes the marriage dates are only a few months apart. Can anyone explain this? I thought they were all Lutherns?
Best regards,
Lorne Bohn
