Having read the latest journal article and also portions of "Weeds like us" and other narratives about hardships of those caught in the turmoil at the end of WWII, many survivors tell of relying on private gardens for some food.  It is obvious where they got seed potatoes, but where did the seed for the rest of the vegetables come from?
