These words are not derogatory in themselves:

1) The Polish word Niemcy simply means Germany or Germans. 

2) The German word Schwaben (in English = Swabia or Swabians) designates a region in southwestern Germany and/or the people living in that region.  Read more about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swabia
