I hope the info Rachael found is what you are looking for. I feel good with this date although a time after 1915 is possible but less likely. Virtually all Germans were deported further east towards Siberia starting in July 1915 so if your family was not out of Volhynia by then, they likely did not make it out of Russia in time unless they were very good at avoiding the authorities. Since they lived near Zhitomir I doubt they could have managed that escape without a lot of help. A few Germans in "Poland" could manage this since they were closer to the German troops. This is the reason I feel more comfortable with the 1913 date Rachael found for you rather than a 1915 or later date.

You might also realize that the spelling of Yeske seems like an Americanization (immigration officials were great at this) of the true name Jeske which is very common. So it may be of benefit to search for Jeske if you are still looking around.
