[Ger-Poland-Volhynia] Ernestina Erdmann

During the past 2 weeks, I've been spending some time in the archives in
Lutsk, Ukraine, doing some research in the Lutheran Church record books
for Volhynia... have studied the 1900 volume and the 1903 volume in
particular. They also have 1904 and 1906 here... In the coming weeks, I
hope to see more of their materials here.

One discovery I made involved my own family. My great-grandfather Daniel
F. Pufal (modern spelling: Puffalt) born at Szcuki, Petrikau province,
and his wife Sophie (nee Mantei or Mantik), moved to the Gnoyno area near
Vladimir-Volynsk in about 1874. Their son Martin, born 1875, died as
young married man in Volhynia, and we had no information about him.
Daniel married Justine Stelter in 1879, after Sophie's death. Daniel &
Justine, and all their children who reached adulthood emigrated to
Canada, between 1900 and about 1913.

Thus Martin's family was always a family mystery, until during these past
2 weeks, I discovered 2 daughters born to him and his wife Ernestina
ERDMANN (whose name was previously unknown to me). They lived in a
district near Torchin (Torczyn, in Polish).  I'm interested in knowing
whether anyone has been researching the ERDMANN family, and might have
any record concerning Ernestina.
