Hello All again!
I have one more photo that I am hoping for help with. It is a photo of the
church that my grandmother was supposedly confirmed in. Can anybody identify
it? Also, can somebody read and translate the German writing on the back?
There's only a handful of words.
My grandmother, Matilda LUECK, was born in 1907 near Vladimir Volynsk,
Volhynia, so she would have been confirmed approximately 1920.
She is part of the group in the photo from last week that was determined to
be in Cranz, Russia, so perhaps this church is near there.
I have thought for years that this church may have been in Karolewo, Poland,
near Rastenburg. I can't remember why though. I know that her last place of
residence is listed as Karlshof, Germany on her passenger record and they
arrived in the USA on 31 Dec 1920.
Here are links to the front and back of the photo.
