did you look for the THEISE spelling either? There are some THEISE and 
THESE in the Volhynian Births, 1880-85. By the way, the name derives 
from the Lower German given name Thies, an abbrevation of Matthias 
('Mattheis'). THEISE and THEISEN are quite common names in Germany.
