Donna,
the Wehrmacht service age was from 18 to 45. According to the Wehrgesetz
of 21 May 1935, the service age began with the 18th birthday and ended
on 31 March following the 45th birthday.
According to the 'Volkssturm-Erlass' of 25 Sep 1944, 'Deutscher
Volkssturm' (German national storm) was recruited of men from 16 to 60.
Most of its units consisted of male Hitlerjugend members (officially
from 16 to 19 but in fact most of them 16 of age). See
www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/Soldat/Volkssturm.htm (in German).
