I've also seen the picture and recognize Edmund Krebs on the picture. He is
now 99 years old and lives in Toronto.  Still drives around by himself. When
he was 95 he wrote a book in German about his life.  Can be purchased
directly from him for $25 CDN.  
The Gemeinde Gottes (German Church of God) had its' beginning in Volhynia in 1925.  The Krebs family lived in Kolowert.  A large church building was built in Amelin.  It held about 700 people and during special services held over 1100 people.  By horse and buggy people came from  90 kms away.  A baptismal service was going to be held in a closeby pond and the night before someone threw oil into the pond.  The next time a baptism was supposed to be held a polish Policeman kept an eye on the pond so no one could throw in oil again.
