I have a great great grandmother who was a Villwock with the following
particulars:
Henrietta Frederike Willhelmine Villwock
Born in 23 Nov 1841, Seehof Municipality, Rummelsburg, Hinter Pommern,
Germany (from a Bible record)
Married Ferdinand Hafer in 1868
Emmigrated to the US with their daughter Charlotte Adeline S Hafer
(Benke) and her husband Gottlieb Benke in 1892 and settled in
southwestern Michigan. Gottlieb Benke and his family started their
trip to the US in Tutschin, Volhynia in 1892 and entered the US through
Baltimore.
My guess is that most of the Villwocks who emmigrated to the
southwestern part of Michigan did not reside for much time in, or pass
through, the parts of Poland and Volhynia that are covered by the data
bases of the SGGEE but originated in German settled areas to the north.
I'm looking forward to any information on the Villwock family name and
for a connection to other Villwock immigrants and welcome contacts.
