I have my source documents and various hard copy of records in a multitude of file folders and boxes.

The time has come for me to organize these items for easy reference.
I have the following in various places in my file cabinet

 alpha files for individuals:
 source documents that apply to many individuals:
 history notes:
 research notes: 
 helpful emails from other members and many other items of interest:

Would someone help me with suggestions and or how they cope with this problem.
