Thanks, Uwe. I was aware of the records in Berlin but not how to access
them. I've heard of people requesting things and being told they don't have
them even though they do.
I will send you a report on the names you requested when I get some
time...maybe after the convention this weekend.

not only.
The "Evangelische Zentralarchiv" in Berlin (http://www.ezab.org) is
keeping the duplicates up to 1940.
You may have a look at

Bye
Uwe
P.S.: I would be interested in the names KERNTOPF, KANTOP and KENTOP in
your database. Although I've gone through the Michalki microfilms some
years ago by the Mormons, maybe I missed something ...

I would like to know when the village of Amelin, Volhynia was abandoned.
Thank-you

your ancestors lived.

I second Jerry's recommendation. I've actually found full text versions
of old family genealogies for some of my lines via Google Books, as well
as Books Online through HeritageQuest, to which I gain free electronic
access via my Boston Public Library card...available to ANY
Massachusetts resident, but you need to appear in person at any branch
library to obtain a card. I would guess that many other major cities
offer similar access.
