Thank you to all who translated the records.  It is now established that the one daughter Auguste (see original message below) was born in 1861, some 14 years prior to the 1875 baptism.  The explanation may be of interest to all on the list as an illustration of the weird errors that can occur in official vital records.

Auguste was baptised the first time in Chodecz on 3/15 March 1861 and the record clearly states that she was born in Rakutowo on 10/22 February 1861, that she was a MALE child, and that she was christened AUGUST.  By 1875 the family had moved a short distance to Jozefowo in Wloclawek parish.  Is appears that when she was preparing for confirmation at age 14, the pastor checked her baptism record and found the discrepancy, and so he had her rechristened.  Later, when Auguste married in Volhynia in 1881, the marriage record states her age as 20, confirming the 1861 birthdate.

Thus, even official records sometimes cannot be accepted as the last word.

I have two birth records from Poland in 1875 written in Russian cryillic script.  I attempted to translate the essential information (names, dates, places) but encountered a quandary.  Two daughters appear to have been born to the same parents in the same year, one in February and the other in April.  It is possible that the first daughter was born a year earlier and only registered in 1875.

Is anyone with better skills than mine willing to try to resolve this quandary?  The handwriting is reasonably clear.  Please contact me and I will send scans of the records.
