It touches on so much of my own research! My mother was born along the
Vistla River (called Wisla as a girl), in Rydzyno, Plock district, and she
spoke of the many willow trees. In this article, "Why Niemiecki"...Marcin
Zamorski speaks of the old willow-wattle fences he came across. So
intriguing. When I saw the blue vistula thistle image on this site, I was
deeply touched by what my grandparents must've grown up with. My grandfather
was born in Kepa Niemiecki. This is the first & only site that I've ever
found his place of birth mentioned. It's on the Lutheran Parishes/ Wyszogrod
link.

I so want to travel to those places someday & envy this writer, who bikes
there doing his research with his little family. And to hear that people are
buying up those areas for summer homes, makes me so envious...Thank you
Jutta for the link. :)
