I agree. My ggrandparents were literate in German, Polish, and Yiddish, but
had difficulty with written Russian. My grandparents were well schooled in
all those languages, inclusive of Dutch, French, Swedish.

Does anyone know how to access records for the German Church Schools? It
would be nice to actually locate some school records for my grandmother Olga
Schmelzer who was schooled in early 1900's. I believe she also went to
private schools as she was well-schooled & multilingual in 7 languages.
